Maha Abu Mailesh is a Palestinian-Jordanian artist whose surrealist paintings explore the lives, ideas, and inner worlds of people and communities. Working primarily in oil on canvas, she seeks to give voice to perspectives often left unspoken, examining the relationships between people, the land, and leaders, and focusing on the forces that shape experience rather than merely its outcomes.

Her work often takes the form of layered, symbolic compositions where reality and imagination intertwine. Figures, objects, and spaces become vessels of memory and storytelling, reflecting on belonging, cultural identity, and shared struggle. Maha’s paintings invite reflection, offering narratives that are intimate, thoughtful, and resonant, while maintaining a universal relevance that connects viewers to the experiences she depicts.
